These blankets are available in single or double net configurations. Single net
excelsior blankets are used on slopes less than 2:1 or channel flows of
less than 5.5 feet per second, while the double net product is used for
slopes up to 1:1 and channel flow velocity of 7 feet per second.
Other configurations for more severe applications are available.All blankets are available with either photodegradable plastic or
100% biodegradable jute/scrim netting.
This is a straw blanket with a single photodegradable net stitch-bonded to the net. S-1
is ideal for short duration projects of low-flow channels or moderate
slopes for up to one year. The product comes 8’x112.5’ or 100 square

photodegradable nets. The top net is UV stabilized to extend the
life to two years. This product is ideal for very steep slopes.

CS-3 70% straw & 30% coconut fiber blanket with biodegradable netting meets Caltrans
Section 21-2.02O(4), Type A Erosion Control Blanket specification.
This is a 100% coconut/coir fiber stitch-bonded between to UV stabilized nets.
Ideal for moderate flow channels and steep slopes. A three-year
life span can be expected. Roll size is 8’x112.5’ per roll, 100
square yards.
CC-4 100% coconut fiber blanket with biodegradable netting meets Caltrans Section 21-2.02O(4), Type
B Erosion Control Blanket specification.

Jute Mesh
Jute Mesh is the original erosion control blanket. Jute mesh is a natural product
designed to offer short-term erosion control in low to moderate flow and
slope areas. Jute mesh is totally biodegradable, the product will
last approximately one year.
Jute Mesh meets Caltrans Section 21-2.02O(2) specification.
Manufactured from pure coir, the husk of a coconut. This product
is then woven into blankets with specific weight, strength and open
area. Coir blankets are designed to last several years on
construction sites making them one of the best products to use in
bioengineering applications.
