Geogrids 

We provide a wide variety of Geogrids that are designed to solve some of today’s toughest construction challenges, including stabilization of soft soils, reinforcement of steepened slopes to increase right of way without taking more land, and walls to construct temporary structures to facilitate the construction process. Geogrids are separated by function with the TriAx® and Biaxial Geogrids used in soil stabilization, and Uniaxial Geogrids used in steep slopes and wall construction as the reinforcing element. TriAx® and Biaxial geogrids provide radially and bi-directional support, while Uniaxial Geogrids provide strength in a primary direction.

TriAx and Biaxial Geogrids

TriAx® and Biaxial Geogrids are manufactured from polypropylene sheets that are punched, heated and drawn to a specific width. 

Tensar® TriAx® Geogrid is an advanced product specifically designed for trafficked surfaces and foundations including paved and unpaved roads, heavy duty pavements, working platforms and light commercial structures. TriAx Geogrid’s multi-directional properties leverage triangular geometry, one of construction’s most stable and widely utilized shapes, to provide an enhanced level of in-plane stiffness. This increased stiffness provides superior performance benefits for trafficked surfaces. 

Tensar Type 2 Biaxial Geogrids meet the CALTRANS Section 88-1.02P specification for subgrade aggregate base enhancement.   These geogrids are normally used to stabilize & reinforce soft soils in the building of roads, and parking lots. They are designed and tested to meet or exceed the industry standards, and have been successfully used for over 30 years.

Uniaxial Geogrids

Uniaxial Geogrids are manufactured with high molecular weight, high tenacity, polyester yarns using a precision knitting process. UX geogrids are dimensionally stable and through a uniform network of ribs and apertures provide tensile reinforcement to the surrounding soil to provide the long term design strength (LTDS) required for each specific application. The uniaxial geogrids are woven and then coated with a polymer coating to provide dimensional stability and offer resistance to installation damage. They are also chemically stable and thereby appropriate for use in for soil pH levels between 2.0 and 12.0.
